The most colorful and wonderful mosque in Iran is Nasirolmolk Mosque or reputed as the Pink Mosque which is located in Shiraz city. Its porch is festooned with colorful tile working and has the highest number of different colors in its construction using colors caressing the eyes.
It is a local mosque with unique and exquisite decoration particularly at its columned prayer hall where stain glass windows let the light through in the morning. This gorgeously colorful place of worship is filled with relaxation as you enter it.
This mosque was built around 1872-1884 by order of Nasirolmolk, the aristocrat of Shiraz. The Qajar-era mosque, completed in 1888, is celebrated for its delightfully colorful interiors: the stained-glass windows, intricately painted tiles and arches, and innumerable Persian carpets create a mesmerizing, kaleidoscopic aesthetic which can’t fail to astound. Combined with rows of delicately carved pillars, each angle of Nasirolmolk Mosque is more photogenic than the last.
