Shahzadeh or Shazdeh Garden (Shahzadeh means Prince in Persian) is one of the most beautiful historical gardens in Iran, located about 6 kilometers away from Mahan in Kerman province which is related to Qajar period. The garden is one of 9 UNESCO listed Persian Gardens. It was built around 150 years ago and the unique feature is fountain and running water. Various fruit trees can be seen in this garden and the ponds and fountains have made an elegant waterfront. This place is definitely a must see, there is no doubt about its beauty. The garden is a fine example of Persian Gardens that take advantage of suitable natural climate .Tourists visit this beautiful Iranian garden every year and enjoy its beauty and freshness.
Shazdeh Garden is 5.5 hectares with a rectangular shape and a wall around it. It consists of an entrance structure and gate at the lower end and a two-floor residential structure at the upper end. The distance between these two is ornamented with water fountains.
Also worth a visit are these charming gardens. Strong walls, a pool and a gutter leading to a lovely mansion are what you are going to enjoy in Shazdeh Garden. Well organized geometric shapes are included in the plan of the garden. Visiting the garden, you would notice some parts without decorations; it is believed that when the architect had heard the death news of Kerman Ruler, he stopped working.
